Anders Lindegaard might be on his way to France this summer as he has been reported to be contacted by SC Bastia recently.
Lindegaard has not been getting enough playing time at his present club Manchester United. He is David de Gea’s understudy there and he is not pleased to be in that situation.
Bastia is understood to have promised him that they would give him sufficient amount of matches to play.
The problem that Lindegaard is facing at United is that he is the understudy of a guy who is a lot younger than him and is expected to get only better and better from here on.
While, Lindegaard’s own career would start going downhill in a few years’ time as he is already 30. So, there is a good chance that he never becomes the no. 1 at Old Trafford. Considering that, making a move to Bastia would be sensible on his part.
Lindegaard, as any other player, wants playing time because only then he would be able to make a name for himself in Europe.
Some people might say that Lindegaard should wait for one more year as a new manager is coming at Old Trafford and he would come with his own thinking.
But, it’s really hard to imagine Louis Van Gaal coming and preferring Lindegaard over De Gea. If he does it, people would be taken by extreme surprise.
If Lindegaard stays at Old Trafford, it’s would be his 5th season at the club and the number of games that he has played so far is just 28.
It clearly shows that he has been regularly warming the bench during his tenure and that would frustrate any player.
Lindegaard is currently on holidays with his spouse as his team couldn’t make it to the World Cup finals in Brazil.
