Arsenal’s Arsene Wenger hammered 4 goals past Sunderland when they played each other during their latest Premier League fixture which keeps them in the racing for the title. The positive result comes at a great moment for the English club as they had already lost against Bayern Munich a few days before.
Mesut Ozil made a disastrous performance against during the Champions League match against Bayern Munich as the former Real Madrid player missed a penalty kick and just seemed to be lost in the entire game.
The German midfielder was dropped out of Arsenal’s match against Sunderland and the team did not appear to be missing out from him as they cruised to a 4-1 triumph. Goals from Olivier Giroud, Rosicky and Koscielny gave Arsenal the convincing victory.
When Wenger was asked about the performances and goals that his players made against Sunderland, the tactician had nothing but praise regarding everything they did.
“It’s one of the best and even one of the two Giroud goals was a great goal, with a great ball in behind from Jack Wilshere. It’s the way we know we can play; it’s the way we want to play. When it’s successful, of course you are extremely happy, because it reinforces your belief in the way you want to play’’.
“It was an important game for us firstly. We had given a lot physically, against Liverpool in the FA Cup last weekend, against Bayern, with 10 men. To win today was of course vital. We did the job in the first half very well and, after that, it was a convincing win.” Wenger stated.
Ozil could not play this match after he sustained a thigh injury but he is expected to play in Arsenal’s next Premier League match against Stoke City.
