Former Arsenal midfielder AbouDiaby has been released by Marseille after two seasons marred with injuries.
The player joined Marseille in 2015 but has managed to play only four matches in his first season and a further two in his second season.
This will be a disappointment for Diaby who has experienced a career plagued with injuries. During his time at Arsenal in the Premier League, he has suffered more than 42 injuries with the club, and this has seriously hindered his career.
The player had a surgery in October and had to undergo reeducation. He was backed with the French side in March and was hoping that he could be back on the pitch before the end of the season. Unfortunately for him, he was not able to play again for the French side, and it now appears that he will be released by the club.
AbouDiaby came to Arsenal with a lot of expectations, and many people believe that he would be the player to replace Patrick Viera. Despite making a good start to his Arsenal career, his form will dwindle, and he will be missing lot of games through injuries.
Arsene Wenger believes that AbouDiaby would have been a world class player if only he could have stayed fit. He said that the player was both technically and physically strong and that he would have made a great central midfielder if he could manage to get a sustained run in the team.
AbouDiaby said that he was sad with the outcome of his Marseille career and he felt that the club did everything they can to help him. He said that he would be taking some time away from football with his family and decide what he will be doing next.
